Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia is in the 61st place among 180 countries in 2019 World Press Freedom Index, published by Reporters Without Borders organization.
As compared to last year, Armenia has improved the position by 19 points.
The neighboring Azerbaijan lost 3 positions, while Georgia gained 1. Azerbaijan is in the 166th position instead of the 163rd last year, and Georgia is the 60th instead of the previous 61st place.
The best index in press freedom is demonstrated by Norway, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark.
The lowest positions are taken by Vietnam, China, Eritrea, North Korea and Turkmenistan.
