Yerevan /Mediamax/. In an interview with Mediamax, Spokesperson of the Armenian President Arman Saghatelyan commented on the statement of the U.S Department of State which in particular, was urging the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to meet “at the earliest opportunity”.

“The Republic of Armenia is also convinced that the Karabakh conflict cannot be resolved by means of war. The ceasefire agreement signed in 1994 upon the request of Azerbaijan envisages clear legal obligations, which the parties should respect.

Any attempt to violate ceasefire might result in a new military venture, and therefore Armenian Armed Forces will suppress all such attempts - any encroachment on peace will receive a fitting rebuff.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can be resolved through only a peace process and there is no need to perceive this truth from time to time at the expense of human lives.

The Armenian President has repeatedly stated that Armenia is committed to the peace process of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group and is ready to take part in proposed meetings in a constructive manner in the given format”, Arman Saghatelyan told Mediamax.
