Yerevan/Mediamax/. President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated on August 10 that Russia is interested in decreasing the tension in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

According to Russian presidential website, Vladimir Putin made this statement upon the meeting with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in Moscow.

“We will continue to take all possible measures to facilitate resolution of the “Karabakh conundrum” within the OSCE Minsk Group, as well as direct meetings with Yerevan and Baku. We hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will be able to reach such a compromise on the current disagreements, which leaves no one a winner or a loser,” Russian President said.

He stressed that during the discussion on the NK issue, the parties took into consideration the results of the trilateral meeting of June 20, St. Petersburg, as well as the meeting between Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan, which took place recently.

Vladimir Putin noted that he also discussed with Armenian President the issues of cooperation within CSTO. Russian President reminded that another CSTO session is to take place in Yerevan in October, which Russia will attend.
