Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Parliament Deputy Speaker, Spokesman of ruling Republican Party Eduard Sharmazanov said that currently the “number one goal” is the peaceful settlement of the situation and prevention of new bloodshed.
“We will do everything for peaceful solution of the issue. RPA is for solely peaceful solution through negotiation. Number one priority is reaching peaceful solution”, Eduard Sharmazanov told journalists after RPA session on July 21 evening.
When asked why the representatives of the ruling party kept silent these days, he said:
“Our silence was aimed at not disrupting and harming the negotiations. This is a very nervous moment and it’s not appropriate to speak about demands now. The negotiations are underway and we will use all mechanisms to prevent new bloodshed”.
RPA Spokesman refused to touch upon reasons that caused the situation, adding that it’s not the time to speak about cause and effect. At the same time, he said that “everyone makes mistakes”.
Eduard Sharmazanov refrained to give any qualification to armed group’s actions, noting only that using military force to solve problems in a democratic country is not justified.
