Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenia has established a potentially good electoral system which allows holding free and fair elections.

Deputy Secretary of the Venice Commission of Council of Europe Simona Granata-Menghini said this, Mediamax’s special correspondent reports from Strasburg.

She noted that the Commission took a direct part in working out amendments to Armenia’s Electoral Code in May 2011. Simona  Granata-Menghini thinks that one of the key amendments concerns the principle of establishing electoral commissions at all the levels.

The Deputy Secretary of the Venice Commission of Council of Europe noted that “the legislative part is only the beginning since practice and law implementation is the most important part”.
