Yerevan/Mediamax/. Etyen Mahcupyan is no longer the chief advisor to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Turkish Today’s Zaman reported it.
According to Etyen Mahcupyan, he was “automatically” removed from the post when he turned 65 on March 9.
“I continue my work [as a prime ministerial advisor]. The only difference is that I no longer get paid,” he clarified.
Recently Etyen Mahcupyan made statements on Armenian Genocide and described the killings of Armenians in 1915 at the hands of the Ottoman Empire as a “genocide.”
“If accepting that what happened in Bosnia and Africa were genocides, it is impossible not to call what happened to Armenians in 1915 genocide too,” he said.
Etyen Mahcupyan was appointed to the post of the chief advisor to Ahmet Davutoglu in October 2014.
