Armenia and Georgia agree on expanding military cooperation

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia and Georgia reached a number of agreements on expanding bilateral military cooperation.

The agreements were reached during the visit of Chief of General Headquarters of Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze who arrived in Yerevan upon the invitation of the Chief of General Headquarters of Armenian Armed Forces, Colonel General Yuri Khachaturov, the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reports.

 

During the meeting focused on the process and prospects of Armenia-Georgia defense cooperation. The sides hailed the current level of Armenia-Georgia defense cooperation which doesn’t only benefits the defense capacity development between the two states’ military structures but makes its own contribution to maintaining stability in South Caucasus.

 

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan had a private talk with Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze. During the meeting, the sides touched upon issues related to security and bilateral defense cooperation as well as regional security topics of mutual interest.  The Chief of General Headquarters of Georgian Armed Forces noted that his country hails cooperation with Armenia being convinced that there are all the preconditions for expanding and making it more effective.

 

During his visit to Armenia, the delegation headed by Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze will also visit the Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsyan at the Armenian Defense Ministry.
