Number of Armenian peacekeepers in Lebanon to increase

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated that official Yerevan is planning to increase the number of its peacekeepers deployed in Lebanon.

Edward Nalbandian stated it at the meeting with Lebanon’s FM Gebran Bassil in Beirut on May 26.

 

Mediamax recalls that within the framework of UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) operation, the Armenian peacekeeping brigade comprised of 32 members left for Lebanon on November 26.

 

Since December 4, Shama military base in Lebanon has been entirely under the protection of Armenian peacekeepers.

 

Edward Nalbandian and Gebran Bassil also discussed issues related to the deepening of commercial and economic cooperation and NK conflict settlement.

 

The Armenian FM also had a meeting with Prime Minister of Lebanon Tammam Salam.
