Yerevan /Mediamax/. Minister of Defense, head of State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Seyran Ohanyan has today received Caroline Douilliez, Head of International Committee of Red Cross Mission in Armenia, and Patrik Vial, ICRC Director for Europe and Central Asia.
The aim of the meeting was to discuss the current issues of cooperation between Armenian Ministry of Defense and ICRC Mission in Armenia and outline future joint projects, the press service of Defense Ministry reports.
The ICRC delegates attached importance to the Armenian state agencies', and especially Defense Ministry's, contribution to the Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons.
Seyran Ohanyan stressed that the competent Armenian state structures are ready to support ICRC in all the humanitarian initiatives.
Touching upon the NK conflict, Armenian Defense Minister said that the misinformation on the fraud number of missing persons and mass burial sites disseminated by the Azerbaijani authorities and accusations against Armenia are aimed at not only misleading the international community but also anti-Armenian moods in Azerbaijan.
