Persons responsible for murders at the seized police station are discovered

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Special Investigation Service of Armenia informed that within the case opened regarding the armed attack on the Erebuni Police Station, the Service clarified all circumstances of the murders of three police officers, Artur Vanoyan, Yuri Tepanosyan and Gagik Mkrtchyan, and discovered the persons responsible for these murders.

“We clarified the involvement of each armed person who took hostage 10 police officers and 7 civilians. We found out 10 armed persons who set fire to 4 police cars and 1 civilian car, as well as 19 armed persons who seized the weapons from police officers and the station arsenal,” the Special Investigation Service informed.

 

The Service noted that apart from 31 armed persons two more took part in the attack at the Police Station on July 17, using two rifles. They left the station territory unnoticed on the same day, taking with them two Makarov guns from the station arsenal. These persons were discovered and involved as defendants.

 

At this moment, 62 people are involved as defendants in this criminal case, 44 out of which are arrested, 13 persons signed an undertaking not to leave the place as restriction, 3 others bailed, and 2 persons are on the wanted list.

 

“We continue working on clarification of circumstances in which 7 police officers received gun wounds of varying severity, the Acba Credit Agricole Bank ATM at the seized police station was broken and AMD 14,808,000 was stolen from it,” the Special Investigation Service stated.
