Yerevan/Mediamax/. The active phase of the joint Armenian-Russian tactical training with firing practice was held on Alagyaz training ground of Armenia.
As Mediamax reports quoting “Krasnaya Zvezda” [“Red Star”] newspaper, the units of Armenian armed forces and the 102d Russian military base equipped with infantry fighting vehicles (IFV-2), T-72B tanks and fortified with artillery and air defense forces, worked out interaction to conduct defense action in difficult mountainous terrain.
Armenian armed forces comprised a motorized infantry battalion of separate motorized rifle regiment, troops of special purpose and army aviation.
About 300 Armenian military and 50 units of military equipment as well as two Mi-8 helicopters were involved in the exercise. Over 500 military and about 200 units of military equipment took part in the training from the Russian military base.
