Yerevan /Mediamax/. Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Armen Ashotyan has said today that a year of hard work was ahead of them and that they should set themselves to the expected works with new vigor and enthusiasm irrespective of the achievements gained over the past years.

Armen Ashotyan stated it at the recurrent meeting, the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Education and Science reported.

“‘2016-2025 State Program for Education Development’ should be the main superiority and most important conceptual project this year. The process is already underway. It bears huge political and strategic importance, and I am sure it will have broad social impact and will pass a phase of heated public debates, as it encompasses the vision for the coming years,” said Armen Ashotyan.

The Minister assigned to pay special attention to the preparatory works of the new academic year in border villages. He also touched upon the Armenian schools in Georgia where certain issues have emerged, mostly related to textbooks. The Minister said that he has reached an agreement with his Georgian counterpart on addressing a number of issues.

According to Armen Ashotyan, the draft law “On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities” is the next major legislative initiative this year, which is presently being discussed at the National Assembly.
