Armenian Ambassador hands over his credentials to U.S. President

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia’s newly appointed Ambassador Tigran Sargsyan handed over his credentials to U.S. President Barack Obama on July 14.

At the official handover ceremony, Ambassador Sargsyan noted that Armenia-U.S. relations are marked with high-level and productive cooperation. The Ambassador said that the two countries’ relations have a large potential of development and his mission will be aimed at expanding the scope of collaboration.

 

“The U.S. President expressed his confidence that Armenia’s newly appointed Ambassador will make the best use of his rich experience and knowledge for the sake of deepening of two friendly peoples’ relations. Barack Obama stressed that the United States attaches importance to its relations with Armenia based on mutual respect and interests, cooperation in international peacekeeping missions as well as collaboration aimed at strengthening of democracy and economy development. President Obama also pointed out that the U.S. hails Armenia’s commitment to peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and bolstering South Caucasus security”, the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s press service reports.

 

The sides stressed that the Armenian community in the U.S. plays an important role in development of friendly relations between the two states.
