Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ambassador of France to Armenia Henri Reynaud who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia said that Armenia remains an important partner for the EU and a promising future is ahead of both parties.
At the meeting with journalists today the Ambassador highlighted the fact that immediately after signing the Eurasian Economic Union membership agreement in Minsk, official Yerevan reaffirmed its willingness to continue cooperation with the European Union, Mediamax reports.
“Armenia remains an important partner within Eastern Partnership. The areas of Armenia-EU future cooperation are clearly listed in the joint statement signed by the parties at Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius last year”, said Henri Reynaud.
According to the Ambassador, France’s position on Armenia-EU relations has been clearly stated during French President Francois Hollande’s state visit in May this year.
“Armenia should get an opportunity to sign the Association Agreement without ignoring the commitments it has undertaken by EEU membership. It is important for the EU to retain close ties with Armenia”, said the French diplomat.
