Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Rainer Morel positively assessed Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting in Paris on October 27.
“The leaders of both countries did not meet for quite a long period of time – it was a period of silence. We are very happy for French President’s initiative to organize a meeting; however, we shouldn’t be too upbeat and expect great results from one meeting. Importantly, the countries carry on a dialog and it’s already their third meeting this year”, said the Ambassador addressing a joint press conference with the UK Ambassador.
Rainer Morel also added that the heads of both countries “should attempt to engage in substantial talks”.
According to the Ambassador, Germany backs the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and believes it is the right format to continue negotiations.
