Yerevan /Mediamax/. The talks around new EU-Armenia Agreement will kick off within upcoming days.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said this addressing a speech at Eastern Partnership non-official ministerial meeting in Tbilisi on November 26.

“I hope that through active discussions we will be able to reach an agreement around the new framework document which will reflect the volume and depth of our bilateral relations and outline new benchmarks for mutually beneficial cooperation”, said the Armenian FM.

Edward Nalbandian said that the Armenian government had expressed the readiness to sign the Common Aviation Area Agreement after liberalization of its aviation market through Open Skies policy.

“We attach importance to people-to-people contacts and consider our citizens’ expanded mobility as a key prerequisite for bringing our societies closer to each other. It’s already 2 years that EU-Armenia Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreements have been in force. We are convinced that it’s high time to move forward and start the visa liberalization dialogue with the understanding that it’s a reform-oriented process”, said the Armenian FM.

“We think that it’s possible to make the best use of various integration frameworks demonstrating a more far-sighted approach. After joining the Eurasian Economic Union and before that, we supported the logic based on the best use of opportunities given by various integration formats without setting the dividing lines. We want to fully benefit from our membership to the EEU, simultaneously developing mutually beneficial and extensive cooperation with the EU”, noted Nalbandian.
