Yerevan/Mediamax/. The Armenian Defense Ministry has stated today that Azerbaijan’s aspirations and statements on the military solution to the NK conflict are "self-delusion”, "and the provocations initiated by this logic are fraught with unpredictable consequences for the Azerbaijani army”.

“Immediately after the European Games, the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan constantly destabilize the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan state border and the area controlled by the NKR Defense Army. On only August 11-12 night, the Azerbaijani armed forces have fired 109 times from 82mm mortars. Over the same period, the Azerbaijani subversive groups have initiated two failed attempts to penetrate in the borderline.

The Azerbaijani side has repeatedly warned the Azerbaijani military and political leadership that Azerbaijan’s aspirations and statements on the military solution to the NK conflict are self-delusion, and the provocations initiated by the logic are fraught with unpredictable consequences for the Azerbaijani army.

The Armenian Defence Ministry again highlights the need for settling the conflict in a solely peaceful way as well as introducing international investigative mechanisms to maintain the ceasefire on the contact line and enhance confidence-building”, the statement reads.
