Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated today that “residents of Nagorno Karabakh are also Europeans as all of us”.

The head of state said this speaking at the summit of EU Eastern Partnership in Warsaw today, Mediamax reports.

Serzh Sargsyan said that ensuring physical security of the population and creating opportunities for them to determine their own destiny is the key to the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict for Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh

Armenian President expressed his concern that “there is consistent promotion of hatred and bellicose rhetoric in the region”.

“This situation is a bad sign and it should be immediately changed. This was another reason why I didn’t respond to the ungrounded accusations voiced by the Azerbaijani President yesterday as I assume there is a well-known and recognized format, OSCE and the Minsk Group established by the latter and co-chaired with the U.S., France and Russia, to discuss the Karabakh conflict in a deep and comprehensive way”, stated Serzh Sargsyan.

“As it was repeatedly stated, the European Union supports establishing favorable conditions for settling the conflict and strengthening the trust measures which should only be welcomed”, said the Armenian President.
