Yerevan /Mediamax/. Members of "Sasna Tsrer” armed group, which seized the Police Station in Yerevan, stated today, "We will not surrender, and we will fight to the end”.

The members of the group made this statement during the meeting with journalists at the seized Police Station.

“Our struggle is bringing results. We are not going to lay our weapons down. Our goal is to spread this attitude throughout Armenia. The movement is getting structure, and soon we will have what we have dreamed about. Any outbreak brings the desired outcome,” said Member of “Sasna Tsrer” armed group Varuzhan Avetisyan.

While answering the question on what will guarantee the armed group’s safety, Varuzhan Avetisyan noted, “First, the people, and second, our weapons”.

Touching upon the possibility of the Government’s resignation, Varuzhan Avetisyan said that it should comply with two conditions:

“The Government should not be formed from Armenian Republican Party and other parties that negotiated with it, but should have transitional authority mandate. President’s power should be reduced. Gradual withdraw should ensure smooth transition.”

As for guidance for the movement, which began at Khorenatsi St, Varuzhan Avetisyan said that there should be a single agency.

“We don’t consider parties to be leaders of the movement. People with clear background should lead it. We are creating a new state. We are rebuilding the Republic of Armenia,” he said.

Touching upon participation of Armenian MP Nikol Pashinyan in demonstrations at Khorenatsi St, Varuzhan Avetisyan said that he is using the movement for the interests of his party.

Varuzhan Avetisyan named Ara Papyan, Levon Shirinyan and Hayk Martirosyan as candidates for the movement’s leader.

It is worth reminding that this morning, NKR MP and Artsakh Hero Vitaly Balasanyan stated that he mediated the meeting between the members of “Sasna Tsrer” and Director of National Security Service Gevorg Kutoyan, which resulted in the decision to release hostages, held at the Police Station with the condition that a press office will be established in the area.

So far, the remaining 4 hostages were released, including Deputy Chief of Armenian Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan and Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan.
