Yerevan/Mediamax/. Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev said that "Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan touches issues which have nothing to do with Azerbaijan’s non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council”.

As Trend agency reported, commenting on the statements by Armenian FM, Elman Abdullayev said:

“We can only express regret that a man who is called to be a Foreign Minister touches issues having nothing to do with the non-permanent membership of Azerbaijan in the UN Security Council. Discrepant, illogical and unfounded statements of the Armenian minister make us doubt whether he understands how international organizations function.”

Mediamax recalls that addressing a press conference in Yerevan September 7, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandyan spoke of Azerbaijan’s intention to be elected as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. Edward Nalbandyan particularly said that if Azerbaijan becomes non-permanent member of the UN Security Council “the reputation of this structure will not rise but on the contrary it will suffer.”
