Yerevan, June 4. /Mediamax/. Specialist of Turkish studies Ruben Melkonyan said today that the movement started in Turkey may turn into a new alternative force if it's expanded.
“The part of the Turkish society which is against the current authorities' pro-religious ideology tries to find a new alternative force”, said Ruben Melkonyan.
The expert says that “as a result of use of inadequate force and wrong political calculations, the young ecologists’ actions turned into rather a serious internal political phenomenon which may have its reflection in developments inside Turkey as well as have considerable impact on Turkey's role in the region”.
Ruben Melkonyan noted that the ecologists' calls were followed by political ones criticizing pro-religious policy which was supported by the militaries of Turkey.
