“World War I and Armenian People” conference to be held in Yerevan

Yerevan /Mediamax/. “World War I and Armenian People” international conference will be held at National Academy of Sciences (NAS) on October 1-2.

Director of NAS Institute of History Ashot Melkonyan will make a presentation on “World War I and Armenian Genocide: Causes and Effects”, Director of NAS Institute of Oriental Studies Ruben Safrastyan will make a presentation on “Formation of Armenian Genocide Program: Analysis of Turkish Documents”, historian and social activist Alexander Shubin (Russia) will make a presentation on “Ottoman Invasion of the East 1918” and Director of National Archives of Armenia Amatuni Virabyan will make a presentation on “Program on Various Publications of Armenia’s National Archive’s Documents on Armenian Genocide in Various Languages”. 

 

45 more reports will be discussed during the following panels: “Participation of Armenian People in World War I”, “Armenian Question and Diplomatic Struggle during World War I”, “Reflection of World War I and Armenian Genocide in Armenian and Global Literature and Art”, “Genocidal Policy of Ottoman Empire Authorities” and “Losses of Armenian People in World War I and Compensation-Related Issues”.

 

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will deliver a remark of welcome at the conference.
