Yerevan /Mediamax/. Businessman and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan said that his IDeA Foundation is trying to impact Armenia’s economic model by “ bottom-up” not “top-down” principle.

Ruben Vardanyan said this in his interview to Slon.ru portal.

“I am interested in particularly 3 topics. The first is education, the second is related to professionalization of charity institutions. And, finally, the third is that I want to see how through Armenia as a small country with 3 million population,  not so large territory and low GDP, how through various projects one can influence the economic model not by “top-down” but “bottom-up” principle. And IDeA Foundation co-founded by me implements such projects in Armenia. It’s really very interesting to understand how a country or region may develop irrespective of what is happening on the political level”, noted the philanthropist.

Ruben Vardanyan also expressed the opinion that UWC Dilijan College which opened this year will become a new standard for Armenia and will also influence the 1200 schools in the country.
