Yerevan/Mediamax/. Тoday, several ecological organizations held protests in front of the building of Armenian Government against the policy in the sphere of the metal mining industry.

As the Head of the ''EcoLur'' NGO Inga Zarafyan said in her interview to Mediamax, ''the process of subsoil management contributes not to the metal mining industry development, but to the plunder of our subsoil''.

According to her, as of today Armenia numbers more than 700 deposits, and already 465 contracts on their purchase are concluded.

''Armenia is rich in subsoil - gold, silver, vanadium, iron, titanium. But only a few rocks are mentioned on the state's balance and this leads to corruption risks'', she said.

Inga Zarafyan explained that the soils which are not mentioned in the contracts concluded with the companies ''are simply exported abroad.''
