Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Police stated today that there is a “real and immediate danger” of abrupt escalation of tension at the restricred area of Khorenatsi St, which can have unpredictable consequences.
Police note that “reliable information was gained, which points that members of the armed group give direct instructions to people in the streets to organize and implement actions, including provocations for clashes, that jeopardize lives and safety of citizens.”
Police addressed a demand to leaders of demonstrations, “Relocate demonstrations shortly to a place, where it will be possible to ensure safety of peaceful demonstrators within duties of Armenian Police.”
“Otherwise, Armenian Police will have no other option but to break up the demonstration according to the law,” the statement reads.
