Yerevan/Mediamax/. The official reception dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of Armenia took place in Aleppo.
According to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Governor of Aleppo, the Mayor, Presidents of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Syrian MPs, spiritual leaders of Armenian community, representatives of national government, businessmen, as well as Aleppo’s Armenians attended the event.
Armenia’s Consul General in Aleppo Tigran Gevorgyan highlighted the great contribution that Aleppo’s Armenians had in creation of Armenian state. He emphasized that today, when Armenian community has to face a lot of challenges due to the Syrian crisis, Armenia did and still does everything possible to support and back them.
During the event, the Consul General gifted a number of Armenian community representatives in Aleppo with state awards from President of Armenia.
