Yerevan /Mediamax/. First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Garegin Melkonyan said today that the new EU-Armenia Framework Agreement negotiations are taking place in a “positive and constructive atmosphere”.

“The fourth meeting for the trade and investment direction is taking place in Yerevan these days. I can say that we agreed upon substantial part of the current document,” First Deputy Minister said within the frames of EU4Business events in Yerevan.

According to Garegin Melkonyan, there are still “sensitive topics, which are technical and require further discussion”.

Nevertheless, First Deputy Minister expressed his confidence that they can find solutions for them.

Touching upon the date of signing of the agreement, Garegin Melkonyan noted that “the content of the agreement is the most important part.”

Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski said, “The outline of the negotiated agreement’s political part is more or less clear, and we are working on the economic part now.”
