Yerevan /Mediamax/. The European Union will continue supporting Syrian refugees, coming to Armenia.
“At this moment the EU Delegation to Armenia finances a program realized by the Armenian Red Cross Society. The program aims to help the refugees integrate in Armenia,” the EU Delegation to Armenia told Mediamax.
The delegation also informed that this year Armenia was granted the opportunity to apply to MADAD Fund, created in 2014 to provide support to Syrian refugees.
German International Cooperation (GIZ) Office in Armenia currently realizes the Economic Integration of Syrian Refugees project.
GIZ Office in Armenia told Mediamax that the project aims to provide multidimensional support to the refugees, who want to start a business in Armenia.
Spokesperson for Armenian MFA Tigran Balayan informed Mediamax that Armenia is holding “constructive discussions” with the European Union on assistance for the Syrian Armenians sheltered in Armenia.
