Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a speech on August 5 at Renaissance Square of Stepanakert. Mediamax presents excerpts from PM’s speech.

All-Armenian revolution

When we say peoples revolution, we mean all-Armenian revolution.

All-Armenian revolution means that the revolution happened not only in the Republic of Armenia, but in all Armenian communities around the world.

The values of the revolution are all-Armenian values, and by continuously strengthening those values institutionally in all Armenian communities we will achieve Armenia’s goal of becoming a leading nation once again.

Replacing division with unification

One of the key purposes of the revolution is succeeding in replacing the division that has prevailed for many years in our reality with unification of all Armenians.

This doesn’t mean that we should give up on our place of origin and the feelings that we have for it. This implies that our origin should be a factor that unites us and not vice versa.

Strategic goals

Today I would like to introduce Armenians to the draft version of our strategic goals, to the issues that the Republic of Armenia should be able to tackle until 2050:

- bring the Armenian population to the indicator of at least 5 million;

- create 1.5m new jobs, solve the issue of unemployment for 2.5m people and eliminate poverty;

- turn Armenia into an industrial country, increase the Armenian GDP by 15 times;

- secure at least 5 Armenian tech companies worth over USD 10bn and 10 000 acting startups;

- increase the average salary by 7 times;

- appear among at least top 20 countries with army combat capacity;

- have one of the 10 most efficient intelligence agencies in the world;

- provide 100% access to healthcare services and increase the financing by 20 times;

- make education a national lifestyle, increase the financing for education and science by 20 times;

- increase the number of tourists to 15m.

The possible and the impossible

We are no longer interested in realistic programs. We are no longer interested in what is possible. We intend to realize what seems impossible, as the Armenian nation can make the impossible happen.

 Excluding violence

Violence should be excluded from the solution to any Armenian issue. All the forces, individuals who consider violence as a way of solving any Armenian internal issue should be rejected. The society without violence and nation without violence should become a cornerstone provision for our national unification.

Protecting liberation results

The negotiations for the settlement of NK issue should be aimed at protection of the results of Artsakh liberation for self-determination of Artsakh people and their security. Any decision acceptable for the governments of Armenia and Artsakh can only be relevant in case the people of Armenia and Artsakh approve it.

Conspiracy is excluded

It’s useless to suspect the Armenian government in conspiracy against Artsakh. The conspiracy is excluded given our origin. We have appeared at the negotiations for the settlement of NK issue as a legitimate representative of the people, and thus, we can protect only the people’s wishes and goals during those negotiations.
