Yerevan /Mediamax/. The government shutdown in U.S. didn’t affect the operation of U.S. Embassy in Armenia.

Spokesperson for U.S. Embassy in Armenia Taguhi Jahukyan told Mediamax that the United States Embassy in Yerevan remains open for consular services, including emergency services to American citizens and visa processing.

“In addition, the Embassy is continuing all activities required to protect the interests of the United States. However, during this time of a partial government shutdown, we must review spending and some events might be curtailed”, said Taguhi Jahukyan.

Mediamax recalls that the US government started a partial shutdown after the two houses of Congress failed to agree upon a new budget.
