Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian citizen, 77-year-old Mamikon Khojoyan who has been in Azerbaijani captivity for over 1 month and is repatriated to Armenia currently has serious health issues.

After repatriation, Mamikon Khojoyan was taken to Ijevan medical center and the medical examination showed numerous bruises, fractures and injuries on his body, Mediamax was told in the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

 

"The mentioned injuries haven't been reported in the videos and press releases issued by the Azerbaijani media which indicates that Mamikon Khojoyan got the injuries during the period of his captivity in Azerbaijan", the Defense Ministry reported.

 

A protocol was formed as a result of the medical examination, and the case is being investigated.

 

Mediamax recalls 77-year old Armenian citizen Mamikon Khojoyan who was captured in Baku was returned to Armenia on March 4. Verin Karmir Aghbyur (Upper Red Spring) resident Mamikon Khojoyan crossed the Azerbaijani border on January 28, 2014. The repatriation was held under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
