Armenian parliament elects heads of standing committees

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Armenian National Assembly of the 7th convocation has elected today heads of standing committees via a secret ballot.

The assembly will have 11 committees instead of previous 9. Eight committees will be chaired by My Step group, two by Prosperous Armenia and one by Bright Armenia.

 

Mediamax has followed the announcement of the voting results, which are as follows:

 

My Step group

 

Standing Committee on Health Care and Social Affairs (12 members), chairman: Narek Zeynalyan (112 votes “for” and 16 “against”).

 

Standing Committee on Foreign Relations (14 members), chairman: Ruben Rubinyan (117 votes “for” and 12 “against”).

 

Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport (12 members), chairman: Mkhitar Hayrapetyan (116 votes “for” and 11 “against”, two ballots were declared invalid).

 

Standing Committee on European Integration (10 members), chairman: Arman Yeghoyan (108 votes “for” and 17 “against”, four ballots were declared invalid).

 

Standing Committee on Defense and Security (11 members), chairman: Andranik Kocharyan (122 votes “for” and 4 “against”, three ballots were declared invalid).

 

Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs (15 members), chairman: Vladimir Vardanyan (122 votes “for” and 6 “against”, one ballots was declared invalid).

 

Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment (12 members), chairman: Varazdat Karapetyan (127 votes “for” and 2 “against”).

 

Standing Committee on Economic Affairs (15 members), chairman: Babken Tunyan (123 votes “for” and 6 “against”).

 

Prosperous Armenia group

 

Standing Committee on Regional Integration (11 members), chairman: Mikael Melkumyan (122 votes “for” and 6 “against”, one ballot was declared invalid).

 

Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs (10 members), chairwoman: Naira Zohrabyan (127 votes “for” and 2 “against”).

 

Bright Armenia group

 

Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs (10 members), chairwoman: Mane Tandilyan (116 votes “for” 10 “against”, three ballots were declared invalid).
