Yerevan /Mediamax/. At today’s session, the Armenian government approved the signing of the agreement between Armenian and Russian governments on the order of Armenian citizens’ stay in Russia and Russian citizens’ stay in Armenia as well as the proposal to make changes in the agreement on work and social protection of the two countries’ citizens.

Head of the State Migration Service of Armenia Gagik Yeganyan said that under the first agreement, citizens will be able to be registered on the territory of each others’ states within 30 days from the day of arrival. He recalled that Armenian citizens should register in Russia within 7 days as of now.

Under the second agreement, citizens of the two countries will be able to work in both countries without permission.

“Presently, an Armenian citizen turns to relevant structures of Russia to get a job permission, provides necessary documents, makes a state payment and waits for some time for a negative or positive answer”, Gagik Yeganyan reminded about the current order.

He noted that according to the changes, the permission required earlier is cancelled which means that the labor market becomes a single one.

“An Armenian citizen will have the same job opportunities as Russian ones. Under the job contract, besides the employee himself, his family can also stay in Russia legally”, he added.

Gagik Yeganyan said that Armenia has already finished the first phase of coordination of the changes while the Russian sides hasn’t. According to him, Russia should fulfill its duties before the meeting of Armenian and Russian Prime Ministers due in Sochi on July 11.

The agreements are supposed to come into force untill late 2014.
