Yerevan /Mediamax/. The U.S. will continue to encourage Yerevan and Baku to take constructive steps to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Spokesperson for the United States Department of State Jen Psaki stated it introducing Washington’s official position on the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents recently held in Paris upon the initiative of French President Francois Hollande, Mediamax reports.

“The sides can build on the momentum generated during the Presidents’ three meetings this year by adopting measures that builds trust and confidence, and certainly that can be done through dialogue. Secretary Kerry also had meetings, as you may know, in Wales. And they can also enter into a genuine negotiation process to advance a peaceful and lasting settlement to the conflict. So certainly, we would encourage that through dialogue”, said Jen Psaki.

Mediamax recalls that commenting on the Paris meeting of the Presidents, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian described it as “useful, honest and constructive”.
