Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated that he is mainly satisfied with the results of the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Vienna, where the Foreign Ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair states took part as well.

“The Armenian side partook in the meeting, having a goal to find out whether the negotiations are at an impasse and there is no other way but to carry on a war. In general, my partners and I are satisfied with the results of the meeting,” said Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan during the interview he gave to the journalists on the flight back to Yerevan from Vienna.

According to the President, Azerbaijani President assured during the meeting that neither his country nor himself aim to solve the issue through military actions.

“That is good, but inspires little confidence, because although such words have been often spoken before, these agreements were never maintained in reality. We will see how the situation unfolds. We are prepared for any outcome, but we wish the outcome to be the peaceful settlement,” said Serzh Sargsyan.

According to him, the organization of a future meeting between the Presidents was discussed in  Vienna.

“We made a constructive suggestion, offering to establish monitoring of the ceasefire regime at the Line of Contact before the meeting. We did not speak of negotiations. We did not discuss any conditions. We talked about maintaining of the ceasefire regime, and I expressed a wish that if a meeting takes place, it should occur after the monitoring is established. I believe that the staff of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office will be enlarged in a very short period of time, and the sooner the monitoring is established, the better,” noted Armenian President.
