Yerevan/Mediamax/. Civil Contract, Bright Armenia and Republic parties signed a memorandum of joint political activity today.

According to the memorandum, “the joint activity of these parties is based on the principle of the priority of interest and aims to ensure longstanding and stable development of Armenia”.

The parties stated they would partake in the 2017 parliamentary elections and Yerevan Council elections as electoral bloc.

Bright Armenia Chairman Edmon Marukyan said they “believe in success of the unity”.

“The three parties are different, and each has a story of its own. However, our differences empower us. Any disagreement means less than the common interest that unites us,” he said.

Civil Contract board member, MP Nikol Pashinyan said the unity “must do everything to bring the views within the country closer, not drive them further away”.

“Our starting point is the prevalence of interest of the Republic of Armenia,” Nikol Pashinyan stated.

Republic Council Chairman Aram Sargsyan stressed, “The parties united to win.”

“We have a strong team. We didn’t get dirt on our hands on the way. We will fight against the authorities. We united to have a great Armenia, so we’ll strive for that,” Aram Sargsyan said.

The unity members emphasized they would apply consensus decision making on joint activity, including involvement of new parties.
