Yerevan /Mediamax/. U.S. Co-Chair of OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick said in Yerevan today that "the occasional meetings taking place between Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents and Foreign Ministers are no longer enough”.

The U.S. Co-Chair stated it answering the question of Mediamax’s correspondent in Yerevan today.

“It’s time to advance the talks at another level. More formal talks are needed and the parties should decide how that process should be”, the U.S. diplomat said.

According to Warlick, in order to come to final terms over the key elements of establishing peace the parties should have regular high-level meetings.

“During my speech at Carnegie Foundation I introduced the key elements. We are working on exactly those 6 elemints with the parties – they are the points over which they should reach an agreement for the peace process”, said the mediator adding that those six elements should be viewed as a whole.

Answering the question of Mediamax correspondent as to whether those six elements should be viewed as updated Madrid Principles first presented in the joint statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries in L'Aquila in 2009, James Warlick said that it is not desirable to classify them or describe anyhow.

“They are simply the required elements over which the parties should come to terms for the peace process. I should also point out that the list of measures that should be taken to establish peace is not limited to only those six points”, he said.
