Yerevan/Mediamax/. 26-year old Ajarian Muslim Tamaz Chagalidze fighting in Syria in the ranks of the Islamic State (ISIS) publicly threatened to kill Georgian fighters with radical Islam.
“Those who have committed anything against Islam and Muslims in NATO peacekeeping missions in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as in Georgia should know we are aware of all the facts, we have your names and last names... you will pay with your own blood”, he wrote on social networks.
Among Georgian regions the authorities of which are against radicalism, the ISIS member recalled Samtskhe-Javakheti, which is densely populated by Armenians.
In an interview with Batumelebi Newspaper, Tamaz Chagalidze noted that 200 people of Georgian descent also fight in ISIS ranks, reported Mediamax’s special correspondent from Georgia.
At that, the Ministry of Justice of Georgia made amendments to the legislation the approval of which will speculate that Georgian citizens participating in illegal military formations overseas will be prosecuted.
Recently, up to 10 people died in Syria in ISIS ranks. They basically come from Pankisi Gorge which is populated by ethnic Chechens – Kists.
