Yerevan/Mediamax/. Court of Criminal Appeal of Armenia made a decision today to arrest Robert Kocharyan.
Prosecutor’s Office filed complaint against the decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan to change the pre-trial restriction for Robert Kocharyan and release him from custody upon personal guarantee from former and current Presidents of Artsakh. Prosecutor’s Office applied for full annulment of the decision, asking to issue a new judicial act with arrest as a restriction.
The former head of the state is accused of overthrowing the constitutional order during the events on March 1, 2008, and of taking a bribe in particularly large amount.
Kocharyan was in custody from December 7, 2018 to May 18, 2019. On May 18 the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan decided to change the pre-trial restriction against former president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and release him from custody.
